     LoveCat Music recording artist Tracy Thornton has been making his living as a professional steelpannist since 1995. He was the founder, leader and arranger for critically acclaimed “Been Caught Steelin’” and the nationally renowned “Sons Of Steel” which had been anointed “The Nation’s Most Exciting Steel Drum Band” back during their four year run.  Each group produced 2 CD releases that Tracy produced himself and co-produced “Sons Of Steel’s” Carpe Diem title with world-renowned pannist Andy Narell.  Other groups that Tracy has arranged and produced are “The Bahama Mamas”, “The Pink Flamingos” and “Steel Praisin’”.

Well, I am gearing up for 2013 here! It looks like another amazing year is coming together.(I thought 2012 was pretty awesome!) Currently I am in the studio recording the next CD for Steel Pandemic Records "Pan Rocks Volume 1" and maybe "Volume 2" if I can get it done before the traveling season sets in starting in March. It's going to be a cool one. Definately having the best time recording it! You can check my "Dates" page for all of the Steel Band Festivals I will be guest artisting and performing at this spring and summer and I if am close to your area, please come out and hang! I will be all over this year. From Canada to Ohio to Alabama to The Netherlands and everywhere in between! I will try and do better with updating my news page. There will be a brand new website coming in the next month or so so I am excited about that as well. Anyway, I hope to see a lot of you this coming year again and look forward to meeting and making many more new friends. God, I love my job! See ya soon!


Hot Hot Summer!

Well I hope everyone is staying cool these days, cause this summer is a hot one! So just to catch everyone up (I know it's been a while)on what I have been up to. So 2012 has been a wonderful but insanely busy year so far. I have been from Trinidad to Texas to Ohio and back to Trinidad and everywhere in between. I have had amazing expiriences and concerts with some really great groups I have worked with from Richland College in Dallas, TX. My middle school friends in New Philidelphia Ohio again. The Rhythm Project kids in Virginia Beach. Man I couod go on and on...National Trail High in Ohio, all the bands in east Ohio at Ohio Valley Festival Of Steel and last but not least,touring with my friends from Lethbridge U in Canada in Trinidad for yet another amazing Trinidad expirience. My record label Steel Pandemic Records in rolling along very nicely thanks to the new release "The Pan Police...A Steelpan Tribute To The Police" that is prooving to be a hit. And getting ready to start a new tribute for a fall release but I am keeping this one secret...at least for now. Will keep you posted. So there you have it for now, I will check in and fill you in on more cool stuff coming up....there just doesn't seem to be enough hours in a day to fit everything in. Carpe Diem!

Well I hope everyone had a great New Year! 2011 was amazing here. Finished off the last 2 weeks of 2011 in Trinidad! Now it's back to the grind and looking forward to a BIG 2012. As great as 2011 was, 2012 is looking even brighter. Ohio, NY and Texas tours already set up for the spring. Trinidad again for June and many other trips and performances in the works. Check my "Dates" page for more info. BUT the BIG news is the launch of my new an exciting adventure....."Steel Pandemic Records, LLC". My new record label dedicated to putting out really cool steelpan tribute records to artist most wouldn't expect to hear on the pans.
